Final performances of this classic production Mozart’s late masterpiece, The Magic Flute, has lost none of its appeal, continuing to delight audiences with its sublime music and theatrical spectacle. Nicholas Hytner’s landmark staging, described as an ‘all-time ENO hit’ by The Times, reveals the humanity of the opera, combining colourful characterisation and fantastic knockabout humour. This revival features a superb cast of Mozart singers, including the award-winning Andrew Kennedy and Sarah-Jane Davies. Heather Buck makes her ENO debut as the Queen of Night, while Roderick Williams, ‘one of our leading baritones’ (The Sunday Telegraph), brings his musical artistry to the role of Papageno. A guest conductor with all the major British opera houses, Martin André leads the ENO Orchestra and Chorus in this joyous production.
